Loveland driving tests begin at our East 29th Street office. We accept walk-ins when an examiner is free, but only an online booking holds a time. Once we submit a passing result into the DMV's system, most drivers can turn their permit into a driver's license online that same day. For about 15 to 20 minutes, a state-certified examiner evaluates your driving on a route approved by Colorado.

Colorado driver's license offices, the ones most people call the DMV, run by appointment only. The Loveland office is next door to us at 138 E 29th St, and for an adult starting without a permit that turns two trips into one.
Line up the permit appointment first and book your drive test with us directly after. The twelve-month permit wait is for drivers under 18 only. An adult can collect the permit next door, take the test here, and finish the license online that day.
During the road test, the examiner evaluates your driving using the criteria Colorado requires for the driving exam.
Our examiners are patient and friendly, and they state each direction clearly with enough time for you to act.

The examiner explains the result after every test, whether you pass or need another attempt. You hear which actions met the standard and what to practice.
A second Loveland attempt is $65. Use the feedback to focus your practice before retesting.
American Driving Academy provides the vehicle for most Loveland driving tests. Most customers do not need to supply a car of their own.
A permit carrying an interlock restriction requires your own vehicle. Confirm that it meets all five requirements in the test-day section before you arrive.
Use a practice driving test when you want an evaluation before test day. The appointment is designed to assess your current driving, not teach new skills, and nothing from it is reported to the DMV.
Afterward, you hear which skills look ready and where more practice would help. That feedback does not determine how the later driver's license test will end. Book a Loveland behind-the-wheel lesson instead when what you want is instruction.
Approach slowly enough to stop before the line, crosswalk, or sidewalk. Make sure the car is still, check both directions, then proceed.
On unposted Loveland residential streets, the limit is 25 mph. Watch for posted changes and active school zones, then adjust smoothly.
Unless you are turning, hands should be placed at 9 and 3 or 10 and 2. Steer hand over hand or push-pull through the turn, then return to that grip.
Before moving into another lane, signal first, check the rearview and side mirrors, then look over your shoulder and move only when clear.
Test Your Readiness

Correct, wheels need to be FULLY stopped
Wheel B is the one that passes. A rolling stop is one of the easiest points to lose, because the examiner is watching the wheel, not the speedometer.
The check from the driver's seat: look at the ground outside your window and make sure it has stopped moving.
Not quite. That wheel is still turning.
Wheel B is the answer. Your wheels have to be fully stopped behind the line, not creeping. Rolling through a stop sign is one of the most common reasons a driver loses points.

A right turn always finishes in the closest lane, the one beside the kerb. Swinging wide into the far lane is a marked error even when the road is completely empty.
If Freddy needs the far lane, he gets there afterwards as a separate lane change, with a signal and a blind spot check.

Freddy should finish in Lane B, the one closest to him beside the kerb. Turning wide across into the far lane is marked against you even on an empty road, and it is a habit examiners look for.

That is the full check.
Rear-view mirror, driver side mirror, then a look over your left shoulder. The mirrors tell you what is behind you. Only the shoulder check covers the blind spot the mirrors miss.
Signal before you move, and leave the signal on the whole way through the change.
That one is for a right lane change.
You are moving left, so your blind spot is on the driver's side. Keep looking, there are still checks to find.
Start the car, then hit the Space Bar to stop it.
The car has not started yet.
Correct. You stopped short of the sidewalk.
That is the stop that counts. Your first stop happens before any part of your car reaches the sidewalk, every time, even when a bush means you cannot see a thing from back there.
Then you creep forward into the green area and stop again for a proper look. A second and even a third stop is fine. Rolling straight through on the first one is not.
Too late. You were already on the sidewalk.
Your bumper crossed the sidewalk before the car stopped, so that first stop does not count. People walk there, and an examiner marks it the moment it happens.
Stop with the bumper short of the sidewalk first. Once you have stopped there, move up into the green area and stop again to see past the bush.
Much too late. You rolled all the way in.
You stopped in the green area. That is where your second look happens, not your first, and anything already coming along the cross street had no warning you were there.
The order is what matters: stop before the sidewalk, then creep forward, then stop again where you can actually see.
