Loveland behind-the-wheel driving lessons are led by patient, state-certified instructors. Teen driving lessons and adult driving lessons are $160 per two-hour session. Family-owned since 1999, we teach safe habits and good judgment that matter long after the drive test. Our training and safety practices go beyond state standards. Every instructor is vetted and takes part in ongoing training. A clear plan guides each private driving lesson, every car has a dash camera to back our Lesson Review Promise, and the Lesson Progress Tracker tells families what to practice next.

Find the Lesson That Fits
A Colorado teen who wants a license before 16½ generally must complete six professional hours during the permit year. Loveland students complete that time in three private 2-hour appointments with a state-certified instructor. Once training is complete, American Driving Academy enters the hours in the DMV system and provides the DMV completion certificate. A second certificate is supplied for the family's insurance records.
Adults book lessons for many reasons. Some are first-time drivers, some learned in another state or country, and others are returning after a long break. Starting later or getting comfortable again is completely normal.

Lesson one: no experience is required
Begin away from traffic, then use quiet Loveland streets once steering and braking are ready.
Lesson two: starts when the first skills are ready
Add parking, larger intersections, and traffic on roads such as US 287.
Lesson three: starts when the second skills are ready
When ready, practice may include I-25 and mountain roads west of Loveland.
Not every driver will reach every item in six hours. An instructor may stay on an earlier skill until the driver is ready to move on. Colorado requires the training time, not completion of every item listed here. For every Colorado teen licensing before 16½, three 2-hour lessons fulfill the professional instruction rule, and the DMV and insurance certificates are provided.
Schedule a LessonLoveland students use vehicles approved for professional driver training in Colorado and maintained on a routine schedule. A passenger-side brake and mirror let the instructor step in when needed.
State certification is only the start. Instructors continue training with American Driving Academy, explain each skill clearly, and add harder traffic only when the driver has enough control.
Our team includes people with experience in teaching, law enforcement, licensing, and professional driving. We look for instructors who stay calm, give useful directions, and make good decisions in traffic.
Fingerprint screening starts before employment. American Driving Academy sends the prints through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for comparison with the FBI's national database, then repeats the process every year for current instructors.
At the end of the lesson, the instructor talks through what the student handled well, which habits need more work, and what to practice with a parent or another supervising driver. Those notes are saved in the Lesson Progress Tracker after every appointment, so the family can follow progress and use home drives more effectively.
After the third 2-hour appointment, American Driving Academy enters the six hours in the DMV system and gives the student a DMV completion certificate plus a separate certificate for insurance records.
Insurance savings are not automatic. Eligibility and paperwork depend on the company and policy.
Each lesson vehicle has dash cameras. When a student or parent reports a concern, American Driving Academy can review any footage still available, speak with the instructor, and respond directly. Contact us within 7 days because the recording may no longer be available. This gives families a way to hold us accountable for the quality of behind-the-wheel training.

If you are new to Colorado or you don’t have driving experience, we offer driving lessons 7 days a week. These are 2-hour lessons with state-certified, patient, and friendly instructors.
You are required to pass the driver's license test in order to get your driver's license. After passing, you may be eligible to get your license that same day without even having to visit the DMV.
