The office at 138 E 29th Street, one door from the DMV and just off US 287, hosts the five-day class, permit testing, private lessons, and the drive test. Your family uses the same location for the course and for every appointment that follows it.
The Loveland office is backed by American Driving Academy's statewide network of 16 Colorado locations.
Classroom Quality and Local Support
Colorado sets the curriculum requirements. Loveland students use a workbook we wrote for Colorado drivers, professional videos filmed on Colorado roads, discussion, review games, and exercises.
We are AAA Approved and partner statewide with MADD Colorado and Bachus & Schanker. Those partners back up what Loveland students learn in class about impaired driving and roadside safety.
Permit ages, practice-hour rules, lesson timing, and test eligibility can be hard to sort out. Call the Loveland team 7 days a week or stop by E 29th Street, and we will explain your teen's next step.
Support follows your teen into practice at home. Course access stays open, a concern about any lesson can be reviewed, and instructor notes give the family a clear focus before the next drive.
Reason It Through
A classroom gives your teen room to defend a decision, not just circle an answer. The instructor can stop on a disputed point, ask what changed, and let students compare how they each read the same risk. That habit of looking twice is what carries into supervised practice.
The same skill changes with the road. A gap that is enough for a downtown turn may be too short on US 287. Merging toward I-25 has to be planned before the lane ends. A mountain grade makes late braking harder to fix. The classroom lets your teen work through those differences before handling them from the driver's seat.

Fifteen connected topics give the class its order, moving from responsibility and traffic law into the situations new drivers must judge.

Practice That Progresses
Road Ready and License Ready split six professional hours into three private 2-hour lessons. Your teen works one-on-one with a patient, state-certified instructor in a dual-control, state-inspected car. Your family practices at home between visits.
There is no fixed Loveland route. The instructor starts with what your teen can already do, then chooses the next skill that needs attention. Early work may stay on quiet streets, and later lessons can move into lane changes in traffic, parallel parking, freeway merging, downtown Loveland, or mountain roads when your teen is ready.
Loveland lessons run 7 days a week. After each lesson, parents hear what went well and what to practice next. The progress tracker records that guidance, and the Lesson Review Promise holds us accountable for lesson quality. These three lessons cover the six hours Colorado requires before age 16½.
After the Permit Year
Colorado Driver License offices do not give the drive test. American Driving Academy is a State-approved third-party testing center and Colorado's largest drive-testing provider, giving more than 35,000 drive tests across Colorado each year.
License Ready includes the test once your teen becomes eligible. Loveland drive testing runs 7 days a week, and your family chooses the appointment after the permit year and other requirements are complete. Permit Ready and Road Ready families may purchase the test separately.
The examiner gives directions but does no teaching or coaching. Once a passing result is recorded, eligible students can usually upgrade online, and Colorado mails the physical license.
Ongoing Support
Finishing the class does not end the support your family gets. Your teen can retake the course to review it, parents can request a lesson review, and eligible graduates may qualify for insurance or AAA benefits.
Your teen can come back to the 30-hour course long after the certificate is issued. The original student may re-enroll at no charge whenever a refresher would help, subject to course availability. Families can also book instructor time for a new vehicle, a difficult road situation, or a question about what to practice next.
A lesson concern can be reviewed while dash-camera footage may still exist. Contact us within 7 days, tell us what felt wrong, and we will examine the appointment and respond. The promise does not guarantee a license, test result, refund, free lesson, instructor or schedule change, or another outcome.
A completed course or a record of professional lessons may matter to some insurers. Ask your carrier which documents it accepts, who qualifies, and how any savings are worked out before you build a discount into the budget.
Some graduates qualify for a complimentary teen AAA membership through an active Colorado Primary Member. Enrollment, dependency, territory, renewal timing, expiration, and every other AAA rule decide eligibility.
Beginning January 1, 2027, HB24-1021 requires driver education before Colorado issues a first permit. Applicants ages 15 through 17 must complete a 30-hour driver education course. Those ages 18 through 20 may use that course or a 4-hour driver awareness program.
Loveland's five-day classroom program already provides the required 30 hours, including for students who finish before the law takes effect.
The new permit rule does not replace professional driving instruction. A teen seeking a license before age 16½ must complete six hours of professional instruction at an approved driving school.

Course completion may open a roadside-assistance benefit for families who already hold AAA membership. An eligible teen dependent can receive a complimentary membership tied to an active Colorado AAA Primary Member, ending on that member's renewal date. Nothing is automatic or standalone. AAA decides eligibility, enrollment, territory, and other program terms. Confirm the current rules before relying on the benefit. A set classroom suits a teen who benefits from a teacher's pace, questions answered on the spot, and hearing how classmates read the same risk.
The five-day session keeps all 30 hours at E 29th Street, with discussion, games, workbook activities, and live explanation.
Online suits a teen who wants control over study times and can keep steady progress around school, work, sports, or family plans.
Loveland online packages keep the same Colorado focus and can still cover the permit test, lessons, and the drive test.
Loveland classroom packages cost $195 for Permit Ready, $535 for Road Ready, and $625 for License Ready. Every package includes the five-day, 30-hour class and permit test. Road Ready covers six hours of lessons, while License Ready also covers the Colorado drive test and $25 sibling discount.
Students may begin the 30-hour classroom course at 14 years and 6 months. Starting around 14½ gives a teen time to finish class, take the permit test at 14 years and 11 months, and receive the permit on the 15th birthday or later.
A minor can first become eligible at age 16. The student generally must hold the permit for 12 full months, record 50 supervised hours including 10 at night, complete any required professional instruction, pass the drive test, and satisfy current DMV rules.
Classes are scheduled on weekends during the school year and in fall, winter, spring, and summer breaks. Each class spans five days and usually meets from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Current Loveland dates appear when a package is selected.
Six hours through an approved driving school are generally required when a teen plans to receive a license before age 16½. A student licensing later may not need them, although professional lessons can still improve observation, control, confidence, and readiness.
Lessons are tailored to your teen's current skill. As control improves, instruction may include downtown Loveland traffic, freeway entry, and mountain driving with grades, curves, and changing conditions. No single route or skill sequence is promised for every appointment.
ADA Safety Advantage™ belongs only to the original student and cannot be transferred. Complimentary re-enrollment applies to the American Driving Academy 30-hour driver education course and may be completed online or in person, subject to course availability, platform availability, and enrollment policies. It does not include permit tests, behind-the-wheel lessons, drive tests, private tutoring, state fees, third-party charges, or other paid services. Instructor support must be scheduled and remains subject to availability.
The benefit carries no cash value. It remains available during the original student's lifetime while American Driving Academy continues operating and continues to offer the applicable course or support service.
The Lesson Review Promise applies to behind-the-wheel lessons provided by American Driving Academy. When a student or parent is dissatisfied, American Driving Academy will examine the lesson experience and follow up with the student or parent. The promise does not guarantee a license, drive-test result, test eligibility, skill level, refund, free lesson, instructor change, schedule change, or another specific outcome. Documentation, footage availability, scheduling, and program policies govern the review and follow-up.
Colorado permit and license requirements vary with the student's age, permit date, training history, supervised hours, documents, and current DMV rules. A student may begin the 30-hour driver education course at 14 years and 6 months and may take the permit test with American Driving Academy at 14 years and 11 months. The permit may be issued at age 15 after course completion, a passing permit-test result, and the required DMV process.
A Colorado minor must hold the permit for 12 full months before applying for a license. A student seeking a license before age 16½ generally needs six hours of behind-the-wheel training through an approved driving school. Exceptions may apply. Families must confirm current Colorado DMV requirements before permit issuance, drive testing, or licensing.

If you are new to Colorado or you don’t have driving experience, we offer driving lessons 7 days a week. These are 2-hour lessons with state-certified, patient, and friendly instructors.
You are required to pass the driver's license test in order to get your driver's license. After passing, you may be eligible to get your license that same day without even having to visit the DMV.
